All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines (rabies, distemper w/lepto, bordetella), heartworm tested (if 7 months or older) (treated if positive) and microchipped prior to ALL adoptions. Application must be completed prior to any meet and greet. A meet will then be set up, usually, at the misfit dogs foster home. Then a home check and foster to adopt contract. There is a foster to adopt trial of 2-4 weeks to help ensure a 100% match with misfit dog and family. We provide food, favorite toys, a crate (if you don't have one yet) and treats for the trial period.
If all goes well during the trial, we will then complete the adoption with all vetting paperwork and adoption contract!
Misfit Willadeene! Heartworm Positive
I am Willa(deene) about 2 year old mix.. I am heartworm positive and thankfully a foster home stepped up and pulled me from Detroit Animal Care & Control.. it's too stressful there for treatment! I have started the pre heartworm treatment meds. I am a strong girl that is learning how to dog with my awesome foster sisters.. I am crate trained and I know a few commands.. I am gaining the weight that I need too. A DNA test was donated and it revealed that I am 75% American Bulldog and 25% American Staffordshire! I am spayed, up to date on all vaccines and microchipped! Stay tuned for more of my awesomeness! www.misfitangelsrescue.org
Juno was pulled from Detroit Animal Care and Control on 5.10.2019 by one of our amazing fosters, Jackson. Juno is 3ish years old. She had a horrible injury to her front left leg, that was there for a long time. Her leg has been amputated, and she is getting around amazing! She is also heartworm positive and she will start treatment end of July. She is learning that people are kind and fun. She knows sit, lay down, wait for her food, stay and come. She is good in the bath, the car and really doesn't mind her nails cut! Juno now does ZOOMIES around the house!! So far, she loves the rope toy and other chew toys as long as she is able to prop up with one arm! She is spayed, up to date on vaccines. If you are able to donate anything towards her care it would be greatly appreciated PayPal firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you for your continued support. www.misfitangelsrescue.org
Queenie (previously Fanta) was pulled from Detroit Animal Care & Control because a foster opened their home. She is an older girl 6-7 years and a Pit / Mastiff mix. She is one chill girl learning the ropes of being a house dog.. She is great on a leash and is now fine in a crate. She has made baby gate friends with the resident dog so far as she was pretty nervous coming out of the shelter. Queenie is coming out of her shell more and more every day. She is spayed and a small mass cell tumor was removed.. Stay tuned as we learn about this wonderful, big girl! www.misfitangelsrescue.org Spayed, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative.
Leela was pulled from Detroit Animal Care & Control. She is an overbred mess. Her eye is more then double the pressure, glaucoma, trauma.. it was painful and was removed on 5.8.19. While she went in for spay they have found several tumors and spay was delayed, a biopsy was sent out and came back inconclusive. Right now, we are monitoring the tumors as there are many and we do not want her to have multiple surgeries.. so we are getting a game plan with our vet. Any help is greatly appreciated..
