All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines (rabies, distemper w/lepto, bordetella), heartworm tested (if 7 months or older) (treated if positive) and microchipped prior to ALL adoptions. Application must be completed prior to any meet and greet. A meet will then be set up, usually, at the misfit dogs foster home. Then a home check and foster to adopt contract. There is a foster to adopt trial of 2-4 weeks to help ensure a 100% match with misfit dog and family. We provide food, some favorite toys, a crate and some treats for the trial period.
If all goes well, adoption completion with full vetting paperwork and Adoption Contract!
ADOPTION PENDING! Misfit Pork Chop!
Pork Chop was a Detroit stray in June, 2018. He wound up at Detroit Animal Care and Control and stayed there until Misfits pulled him on 08.04.18, and he was a happy, free man! He is a very small guy, weighing 40 pounds and about 3 years old. He has a leg deformity that he doesn't mind (but may later on in life) the vet believes that the bowed bone was from birth and that there was an injury to the lower bone. He still runs and plays like any other dog would. He loves other dogs, cats and kids too! He's perfect at the vet, in the car, in the bath, just needs some leash work. He's pretty much the perfect guy! He is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, on prevention and microchipped.
I'm Franks, 8 month old Pit mix and 57 pounds. I came from a animal hoarder in Detroit. Animal Control found rescue placement for all 18 of us too, Thank you. I never really had the socialization a pup should have so I am slowly learning that people are awesome, I don't have to live in the basement or outside and that baths are good too. I was missing some hair due to demodex mange, but I was treated for that. I do love being around other dogs, big and small, old or young, I didn't mind the cat I met either. It takes me a few times of meeting people before I am comfy. Once I know you.. I LOVE you and will follow you everywhere or nap with my dog friends! My foster dad has shown me ALOT! I love play time, walks and car rides too now :) I am crate trained and housebroke. I know basic commands. Still working on the leash. I am up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped.
Not accepting applications at this time. Misfit Nico!
Hi! I'm Nico the Akita! My foster mom says I have the best smile around! I'm about 8 months old and 65 pounds. I had a rough start in life but I am eager to learn and love again! I am learning the good life of living inside and I love it! My favorite things that my foster mom has taught me are going for walks, a little jog next to her bicycle, baths are pretty cool, and toys! I am still learning what toys are but I am liking what I'm seeing! It will take me awhile to warm up, so patience is what I need too! A few meet and greets WILL be required prior to an adoption trial. Crate trained, housebroke, neutered, all vaccines, entropian surgery and microchipped. My ideal family will have a 6 foot fence and knowledgeable in the Akita breed. To meet me please fill out an application below!
I'm Hot Rod! I am a 7-year-old Pit Terrier mix! 55 pounds of energy ready to run with you! I am just an excitable guy that loves company, but I do need to be reminded of my manners when I do get too excited.. I do have my down times where I just like to look out of the window (which is one of my favorite things to do), watch TV or sleep. I am crate trained, which I still use. I have too much energy for any age children, so no kids for me. I am a dominant boy that is good with other big dogs, but NO cats. I love to go for walks and cuddle with me people too! I know all basic commands! I love the car, I am good at the vet and in the bath too! Neutered, up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, on flea/heartworm prevention. Fill out an application below to set up a meet and greet with Hot Rod!
Trucker was found at a business in Warren tied to a company truck, animal control was called. Though he was microchipped, his previous owner did not want him. He is really the perfect guy.. Kids, cats, dogs, people.. he's amazing.. He does have environmental allergies and is now on Apoquel and will need to stay on that. You will not be disappointed when you meet this guy!
