All of our dog are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccines (rabies, distemper w/lepto, bordetella), heartworm tested (if 7 months or older and treated if positive) and microchipped prior to ALL adoptions. Application must be completed prior to any meet and greet. A meet will then be set up at the misfit dogs foster home. Then a home check and foster to adopt contract. There is a foster to adopt trial of 2-4 weeks to help ensure a 100% match with misfit dog and family. We provide food, some favorite toys, a crate and some treats for the trial period.
If all goes well, adoption completion with full vetting paperwork and Adoption Contract!
I'm Franks, 7 month old Pit mix and 50 pounds(as of June 15th). I came from a animal hoarding house in Detroit. Animal Control found rescue placement for all 18 of us too, Thank you. I never really had the socialization a pup should have so I am slowly learning that people are awesome, I don't have to live in the basement or outside and that baths are good too. I missing some hair due to demodex mange, I am being treated for it and already have little stubs of hair! I do love being around other dogs, cats unknown. It takes me a few times of meeting people before I am comfy. When my skin clears, then I will be neutered and I will start day care to help get used to other things! My foster dad has shown me ALOT! I love play time, walks and car rides too now :) I am crate trained and housebroke. I am up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. Stay tuned! It's never too early to put in an application! wwwmisfitangelsrescue.org
Misfit Nico is a 60 pound, 6 month old Akita. He was found in the streets of Detroit as a stray, no owner came for him. He is learning how to be an amazing boy. He needs a family that knows the Akita breed. He is learning that men are safe to be around, he LOVES being with other dogs and is a follower, he must be in a home with other dogs. He does not mind cats either. Older kids will be good for him due to his size. He walks well on a leash and is good in the car. He still has some things to learn so Stay Tuned! Never too early to put in an application!
I'm Hot Rod! I am a 5-year-old Pit Terrier mix! 55 pounds of energy ready to run with you! I am just an excitable guy that loves company, but I do need to be reminded of my manners when I do get too excited.. I do have my down times where I just like to look out of the window (which is one of my favorite things to do), watch TV or sleep. I am crate trained, which I still use. I have too much energy for any age children, so no kids for me. I am a dominant boy that is good with other big dogs with proper introduction, but NO cats. An experienced working dog parent would be best for me. I know all basic commands! I love the car, I am good at the vet and in the bath too! Neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, on flea/heartworm prevention. Application below to set up a meet and greet with Hot Rod!
Misfit Meaty was a stray in Warren, MI. Brought in by animal control, no one came for him. Thank you animal control for seeking out rescue. Meaty is a 6 month old, LARGE breed dog. Rhodesian Ridgeback and Pit mix, we think. He is already 50 pounds. He was a bit shy and really dirty when he came into rescue. He is fostered with 2 senior pugs and he does really well. He is such a sweet boy! He will be neutered soon, he has had all his vaccines and microchip. Never too early for an application!
Trucker was found at a business in Warren tied to a company truck, animal control was called. Though he was microchipped, his previous owner did not want him. He is really the perfect guy.. Kids, cats, dogs, people.. he's amazing.. He does have environmental allergies and is now on Apoquel and will need to stay on that. You will not be disappointed when you meet this guy!
